What others are saying

“The portrait sculpting course was exceptional in every way. I was so impressed that [the instructors] were both multilingual and could teach effectively in so many languages. The demonstrations and diagrams were immensely helpful and highly instructive. I also really enjoyed and appreciated being invited to participate in the school's activities such as evening figure drawing, art history lectures and anatomy lectures.”

— Gabrielle

“Fantastic! Classmates arrived from around the globe making it a truly international experience. Instructors were professional, prepared and coordinated as a team.  I’m so happy I took the plunge to increase my skill set.  The facility was perfect and conveniently located. I enjoyed attending the art lectures on Friday and the evening drawing classes as well. Highly recommended!”

— Tammy

“The workshops I have attended were invaluable. Though there is no substitute for a full three year classical program, the workshops give a distilled version of the classical regimen. The teaching was excellent. I learned tangible skills for rendering from life and drawing and painting the human figure.”

— John

"At The Florence Academy of Art, I learned what I needed to learn, and it changed my life. Thanks"

— Erich

Meet some of our teachers

After finishing her diploma in Art and Latin she worked for two years as an assistant in a painter's studio while doing freelance commissions. In 2006 she enrolled at The Florence Academy of Art to deepen her studies and achieve the tools needed to express herself as an artist.

Simone has been teaching at the Academy since 2009, and is currently Principal Instructor in Intensive Drawing. Her work has been shown in several group and solo shows and is in private collections throughout Europe and the United States.

Vladimir Jovicevic is from Podgorica, Montenegro. He started painting at an early age and attended drawing and painting lessons in the studios of Ljubomir Popadic and Momcilo Macanovic. In 2010 he graduated from Accademia Belle Arti Terni where he studied classical drawing and painting. He subsequently enrolled at The Florence Academy of Art and graduated in 2013.
